BAC is a pioneer of accessibility. In 2020 we became the world’s first Relaxed Venue, making the venue more welcoming, accessible and inclusive for all. We work on the principle of ‘Not for me, not for you, but for us’ and these words permeate everything that we do. By hosting your wedding day, we can all work together to help improve experiences for all.

BAC has community at its heart. Join our growing family of young creatives, avid gardeners and ground-breaking entrepreneurs. From learning about the soil eco-system in our Community Garden to creating youth-led social enterprises, we can work together to support folk from all walks of life. Your wedding goes towards supporting our local community in a range of incredible work.

BAC is a hub of creativity. We dream big and don’t shy away from pushing artistic boundaries. We regularly host prodigious talent from all around the world. We support artists in dance, theatre, performance, live art and spoken word. Your day with us will have a lasting effect in supporting artistic residencies, financially accessible ticketing and innovative partnerships.

BAC is rich in heritage. Our building opened in 1893 and has since hosted rail workers, council members and suffragettes. Our home was where the first black mayor of a London borough was elected, helped develop the beginnings of Jerry Springer the Opera and welcomed icons such as Fleetwood Mac and Allen Ginsberg. Rising from the ashes of the 2015 fire, the BAC is now full of eclectic artistic installations and quirky designs throughout the building whilst supporting the reverent beauty of its Victorian architecture.
